Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress who was born in Berkeley on the 1st of October 1996. She is an actor, well-known by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) and Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).
Asia Argento began her career as an actress in Rome. She is part of a family that also comprises of film makers. The Church was directed by Michele Soavi. She was later cast as Nanni Moretti's daughter Red Wood Pigeon It was in the film Close Friends written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career really took off and she could change from portraying young girls to larger, more sophisticated characters. Cannes International Film Festival received the film well. In Trauma she appeared for the first time with her father, the renowned Italian filmmaker of horror Dario Argento his mother, one of his favorite actors, Daria Nicolodi, playing an overweight girl on the lookout for her parents' killer. Asia was in Dario's The Phantom of the Opera, the third film she directed alongside her dad. Two of them were Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. The role she played as Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista, which focuses on a physically disabled girl, was a challenging and intricate role, which won it the David di Donatello award for best actress. She had a feature performance in Queen Margot, directed by Patrice Cereau. The role she played was in Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio with Michel Piccoli and won a David di Donatello as well as an award of Grolla d'oro. The first short film Asia made was a scene from the De Generazione movie. Two years after, Asia became a director and completed two other films. One of them, AbelAsia was a homage to her father. In 1999 Asia was the first to direct a feature film by directing Scarlet Diva with Scarlet Diva, in which she played the lead actor and wrote the screenplay. It premiered worldwide in May 2000. The film was awarded an award in the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
